FLOYD MAYWEATHER is acknowledged master of defensive boxing and maneuvering his opponents where he wants them to be [showcased against Saul Alvarez above]. Manny Pacquiao is an aggressive fighter, who likes to move forward as he attacks. That could play into Mayweather’s hands, if Floyd can find openings as Manny comes in.
But in his two most recent fights Mayweather appeared to slow, standing to trade punches more often than usual. That could well have been a blip, but if he does stop to rest, Pacquiao has to capitalize on those opportunities.
