NO ONE seriously believed Floyd Mayweather would stay retired at the relatively sprightly age of 32 but it still took him a while to come back after defeating Hatton. In May 2009, as if to steal the thunder of Pacquiao-Hatton, he confirmed he would return. His wasn’t quite a glorious comeback, he secured a highly impressive victory over Pacquiao’s nemesis Juan Manuel Marquez [pictured above] but came in over their agreed weight limit. That win was never going to put him in immediately with Manny Pacquiao. But nobody expected to have to wait for it for quite such a long time.
